General about Mediaservers, updates and configuration
Intradisk ships with two integrated mediaserver the Twonkyvision Mediaserver and the Mt-Daapd Mediaseerver. Both can be very easy activated or deactivated by selecting a button in the plugins configuration menu.
- The Twonkyvision Mediaserver is intended to use for UPNP audio and video clients
- The Mt-Daapd Mediaserver is intended to use for Apple’s Itunes and networking Ipod Clients
- Additional servers like e.g. the Slimserver or others can also be installed always after upgrading to the Admin/Root-Package

No, updates for the Twonkmedia plugin have to be obtained by paying a little license fee to Taonkyvision.
Is the Twonkyvision Mediaserver already licensed or do I have to do this on my own?
Intradisk’s integrated Twonky Mediaserver is the full featured version already licensed and ready to use. It displays pictures, streams video, music streams and also internet radio stations over the UPNP protocoll. This makes it simpliest and ready to use in conjuction with all kinds of UPNP streaming clients.
Updates of the Twonky Mediaserver Plugin - how are they installed?
Updates are installed very easy by either copying the update file via FTP (as user “admin”) into the /boot/plugins directory. If provided by Twonkyvision run the Twonkymedia setup software.
Twonkymedia 4.1 Update Plugin
- For updates od Twonkymedia 4.1 or higher, its recommended to update your firmware to a version higher than at least 1.6.355
- Copy the file “twonkymedia-4.1.tgz” using FTP as user “admin” to /boot/plugins directory
- Finally reboot your intradisk and find the new Twonkymedia web configuration interface running in the plugins menu

Is the ``mt-daapd`` Itunes Mediaserver also included in the intradisk's „Server“-version?
Yes, its always installed with when standard software package when updating the firmware. After formatting the disk its lost just until you reinstall the update.
How do I configure the MT-DAAPD Mediaserver?
Mt-Daapd is very easy configured by using the standard configuration interface accessable with your Webbrowser.
Can I use the AirPod Wireless Audio Accesspoint for music streaming?
Yes its possible with the root/admin package or higher with a special utillity that is not legal to use at least here in Germany. This is because its stream is originally protected by a crypto algorithm that is worked around with this utillity.

How can I install the SlimServer onto the Intradisk?
Ja, its poosible in principal when using at least the Admin Package or better the LAMP. As the Slimserver is a PERL based application you have to run it after installing the Perl interpreter and all recommended Perl-modules .
